PULAU LANGKAWI

Pulau Langkawi is a cluster of 99 islands offering the best of many worlds; beautiful beaches, world class infrastructure, mangroves rich in flora and fauna and fascinating legends. Ask anyone on the island about the tragic story of a beautiful young lady named Mahsuri, and you’ll hear a tale of love, jealousy and a curse that was placed upon the island by her for seven generations.

Experience the beautiful countryside and peaceful landscape of paddy fields by taking a leisurely drive around the island. You’ll pass small villages with wooden houses framed by palm trees, and children pedalling their old bicycles on errands. There is no shortage of things to do in Langkawi. Head up the thrilling new cable car to the summit of Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s second highest mountain for an unrivalled view of the entire main island and beyond.

The sprinkling of jade green islands that make up Pulau Payar Marine Park lie just 30km south-east of Langkawi. When you charter a yacht through Platinum Charters, Pulau Payar would be a must place to visit as this island offers excellent marine life experience. If you’re into scuba diving, the best diving is along the reef system that skirts the south, east and west of Pulau Payar. Boat charters can be organised through Platinum Charters to Tasik Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden), Gua Cerita and Gua Langsir and not forgetting the mangroves.

Platinum Charters operates either from Royal Langkawi Yacht Club or Telaga Harbour Marina. We can pick guests from both Marina’s as both of them have great facilities. The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, the award-winning 200-berth marina is situated on the south-east corner of Langkawi Island. It is located in Kuah, the island’s main town, providing excellent access to duty-free shops and business facilities.
